FAQ: How much does it cost to see a podiatrist?

(as of 1st July 2026)

INITIAL CONSULTATION (Maximum): $112.00

BRIEF SUBSEQUENT CONSULTATION (Minimum): $72.00

SUBSEQUENT CONSULTATION (Standard): $92.00

CONSULTATION AT HOME OR HOSPITAL: $116.00 (within 5 km of practice)

FAQ: Is a podiatrist covered by Medicare?

Buderim Podiatry has a policy of using Easyclaim for those Medicare referred patients on a ‘Chronic Disease Plan’ from their G.P.  This means payment of full consultation is expected on the day of consultation and then the Medicare rebate of $63.40 is claimed back from Medicare. A maximum of 5 visits can be claimed for all allied health in one year.

Fees vary with the complexity and time taken for a consultation.

Other Fees for insoles, orthoses etc.

Please note, payment is expected on receipt of services or devices. We have a Tyro/medipass integrated software at the practice to facilitate making a health insurance claim at time of service.

FAQ: Can seniors get free podiatry?

If you hold a Department of Veterans Affairs card for podiatry treatment (Gold or white STEC) an annual referral is required https://www.dva.gov.au/health-and-treatment/injury-or-health-treatments/health-services/podiatry-services

If you have a Support at Home ( formerly aged care package) we require your care coordinator to review your plan and include podiatry and then they get in contact with us to request podiatry services either in the rooms or  at your home.

Kindly notify, as early as possible, if you are unable to keep an appointment, as these appointments are precious. Appointment reminders are sent via text the day before your appointment.

FAQ: Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

No you don’t need a referral to see a podiatrist, unless you are being referred under the GPMP- Medicare schemes, you hold a gold/ White DVA card or are being seen under the Support at Home programs.
