Therapeutic Stockings

Failure of venous valves in the legs lead to foot and leg swelling and pain. Venous stockings resist internal leg pressure and provide relief. The podiatrists are trained to measure for therapeutic venous stockings. Stockings with toes cut out might help with tinea or pressure around the toes if these have been problems with previous stockings. Similarly having a fully enclosed stocking does provide a smooth surface for contact between the shoe and the foot if pulling on toes and the edge of the stocking has been a problem.
